Oregon

I have never was an outside girl, if it gets to hot I get sick. But, in the last 10 years I have changed. I have learned to snorkel, gone 4 wheeling in a jeep in the dark through a river pitched a tent and made a fire. The only thing that I can't stand about camping is the having to dig a hole to go potty in the wilderness with nary a locked door and a fan running and the fighting while putting up the tent.
That being said once we got the coach camping is a whole new world for me. It really isn't camping, when David bar-b-ques he can watch TV, and I have a potty with a locked door and fan. We have gone many wonderful places with the coach. Last year we took a 2 1/2 week trip to the Grand Canyon and many canyons in Utah and we intend to do so again. The last time we went we didn't have the coach we had a trailer and the truck we use to pull the trailer isn't four wheeling material. David missed that so now that we have the coach we can pull a jeep. I am looking forward to the beautiful scenery. I have taken pictures of all of the canyons and the colors are amazing. there is bright orange, pastel blue, all shades of green. Our Lord really knows how to fill a crayon box!
One of my favorite places of all time to coach to is on the Oregon coast. I know now why my Grandfather moved back there just about every other year. He had to leave because Gladys' health needed a warmer climate but he just kept going back. There is something about the ocean that is extremely calming to me. I love watching the waves, smelling the salt water, feeling the coolness of the air. I love to look at the ocean and wonder what it would be like to live under it in a great big glass dome watching all of the life that is under there.
Not too long ago we went to the Oregon coast with the pastor and his wife and my husbands parents. We stayed in Winchester bay (where my grandpa lived last), and then Newport ore. We weren't by the ocean but the Umpqua river is just as beautiful. In certain spots you would swear you were by the ocean. The weather wasn't very good it rained alot so we actually had a vacation where we sat around and did a whole bunch of nothing. We played cards every night, worked on 2 jigsaw puzzles and just visited.
I live in Redding Ca. It is beautiful here. We have mountains, we have lakes, We have rivers and you can take day drives and see beautiful areas every Saturday for a year and still find some where new for a picnic. Best of all in Redding I have my 3 amazingly wonderful children and 2 beautiful and special grand babies and that would keep my here until I die. However, if i didn't have a wonderful life here you would find me in Oregon in my coach or maybe even a house built for me right on the ocean shore.

This is really the first!

Well, here I go. I just got out of school and the worst part about it was the writing and now I am about to start a blog. Guess what? blogging is writing. The part about writing that I hated the most was trying to put on paper the words in the right way to let the teacher or whoever know what I learned and what I felt.
My oldest daughter Tabitha has a blog and she felt that after reading my travel journal that maybe I could blog about my travels. She helped me write in school, proofreading and such and, ssshhhh she even took a class for me. gotta love online school. Another good thing about online school is that you can take it with you when you travel. I have taken school to Rome on a cruise , out on the lake and traveling cross country in the trailer.
We started our traveling approx. 15 years ago when I was in the nursing program. Our first trip was to a Caribbean island called st. Martin/St Marten. It was half french and half dutch. I can still remember the line drawn in the road that separated the two. I instantly fell in love with the warm Caribbean ocean and the very colorful fish that can be found while snorkeling. We haven't been to a Caribbean island now in about 5 years. :( We used to go every winter. And even tho i have been to some very interesting and exciting places. (I am very lucky) that I think that warm Island vacations will always be the best.
So here it is, officially my first blogging post. Be warned when I get going I tend to ramble on!
